Two things happen on this field. Pilots land here to take on fuel, park an airplane or wait out weather — and people who have never flown anything walk in the front door and ask how you start. We are set up for both, fifteen minutes from Duluth, with none of the queueing a bigger airport asks of you.
Starting is one flight. On a Discovery Flight you sit in the left seat of one of our Cessna 172s, an instructor takes the airplane off and then hands it to you, and somewhere over the harbor you find out whether this is yours. It costs $125, and the time goes in a logbook that counts toward your certificate.
After that our FAA-certified instructors take you the whole way — Private, Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine, and the CFI ratings if you want to teach. Training is one-on-one and paced around your week rather than a class timetable. Pilots already flying come here for flight reviews, instrument proficiency checks and the rust-removal after a few years off.

Our maintenance happens here on the field, not at a shop three states away. That means limited aircraft downtime — and a lesson that actually happens on the day you booked it.
Instruction is one-on-one and paced to how you learn. Lessons are scheduled around your availability, seven days a week, and ground school happens here too.
Four full-time FAA-certified instructors cover Private through Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine and CFI — plus proficiency checks and flight reviews for pilots coming back after time away.

Renting gives you the freedom to fly without the cost or the commitment of ownership. Our four Cessna 172s, the Piper Seneca III and the PFC DCX Max are all available to rent once you have checked out with one of our instructors.

Flying more than one airplane makes a better pilot. Steam gauges and glass, 160 and 180 horsepower, VFR and IFR — by the time you take a checkride you have adapted to a panel you didn’t memorize, which is exactly what the rest of your flying will ask of you.
